Dan Linkous

Photo by Kyle Kirby This is a shot of Dan Linkous at our first Veteran's Day celebration. He flew in the lovely Tiger Moth that stunned the crowd. Dan is a veteran himself as he flew the mighty F-4 Phantom in USAF service. Also Dan has operated a variety of 'warbirds'. They include the AT-6, Nanchang CJ-6, BT-13, Fokker Dr 1, etc, etc. He always helped and participated in our Warbirds Over Hickory show and is just a wonderful friend. He flies for US Air now and I just spoke to him about a very recent milestone for him. With his son Ryan in the lovely Tiger Moth, Dan surpassed the 20,000 hour mark in his career. It just doesn't get much better than that!! He sure looks the part in this photo. Remember, our event was in Nov. 2007 and it was COLD. Dan's effort to fly this OPEN COCKPIT aircraft in for our event shows his dedication to our mission!!
